The Cost of a Steer in 2024. Initially, Southeast AgNet estimated steer prices to be $120-$150 CWT. CWT means hundredweight, a weight measurement that means 100 lbs. But, the early part of 2024 are showing similar prices to 2023. Some sell for as much as $170 CWT or $1.70 per pound.
